Sending money abroad by post isn’t a good idea. The risk is that the letter will be stolen or at best, the receiver waits a long time for delivery. You can send money fast and securely through FOREX Bank and MoneyGram and under normal circumstances the money will arrive within as little as 10 minutes.
The sender fills in a form at one of FOREX’s branches and pays an amount in SEK. The transfer is made electronically to one of MoneyGram’s 180,000 agents worldwide. The receiver can receive the money after showing ID or answering a test question.
The fee for sending money is surprisingly low. For example it only costs SEK 270 to transfer SEK 3000. More information can be found at www.forex.se under the heading “other bank services”.
