In the past few days, Denmark’s Central bank has released a new DKK 100 note, which like the already released DKK 50 notes and the future denominations, has a common theme – bridges and ancient finds. The new 100 note has the Old Little Belt Bridge (Lillebæltsbroen) on the front and a flint, Stone Age dagger on the reverse.
As things should be, the front of the largest denomination will be adorned by the huge Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen) when it is released in May next year. Huge we say, because the connection comprises of an east and a west bridge totalling 13,401 metres in length.
