This winter Egypt, and not the Canary Islands, is the travel operator, Apollo’s, biggest destination!
Apollo flies to no less than five destinations in Egypt: Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm-el-Sheik, Marsa Alam and the new destination, Taba, in the Gulf of Aqaba. During the winter 2010/11, Apollo will also be offering flights to Hurghada from Jönköping, Visby, Luleå and Karlstad.
But not everything in Egypt is to the Swedes’ liking. Fritidsresor’s summer programme to Almaza Bay, by the Mediterranean, is being closed before it even opened. The reason is too few bookings. A beautiful beach and three luxury hotels in the middle of nowhere didn’t appeal to many people.
