The skyscraper was started in 2004 and was inaugurated at the beginning of this year. The cost of constructing this record-breaking building was also a record-breaking amount – equalling a staggering SEK 150 billion!
Burj Khalifa is a mighty sight from the ground and the view from the visitors’ platform on the 124th floor can hardly be described in words, it should be experienced instead. On clear days you can see up to 80km in all directions.
But it isn’t free to take the lift up there (at a speed of 10 metres a second or 36 kilometres per hour). Pre-booked visits cost SEK 200, non-booked visits, with a long wait in the queue cost SEK 800!
