Expensive Baltic currencies

3/1/2010

FOREX Bank’s staff are often asked as to why Estonia’s, Latvia’s and Lithuania’s currencies haven’t lost value in comparison to the Swedish Crown – after all we have stronger economic muscles than them.

The reason is that they are part of the Euro exchange rate mechanism, ERM 2, and their currencies are pegged to the Euro. The same applies for Denmark too.
