Cards are cards aren´t they?

There are generally two types of plastic cards, credit cards and debit cards. As the name implies, the former is a card with a pre-determined amount of credit, which isn’t linked to any special account, whilst the latter is linked to a bank account, often a current account.

Both types, along with cash, are necessities in daily life as well as on a journey either at home or abroad. There are, however, occasions where you should avoid using debit cards. Such an occasion may be when checking in at a hotel or when hiring a car, when you must leave a deposit. The deposit is drawn directly from your account and it may take a long while before the sum is repaid.

FOREX Bank offers three types of card: the credit card, FOREX Visa, in conjunction with Nordea Finans, the debit card, FOREX Bank card and the pre-paid Global Cash, practical and safe for your trip. The two latter cards are also linked to Visa. You can also have credit for your bank card. Read more about these cards on our homepage.
