Cheapest countries for tourist

4/18/2012

It might be rather expensive to get there, but once you’ve arrived you can live like a king with a strong Swedish Crown. We’re talking about South-East Asian countries, which take the four top places for the cheapest countries in FOREX Bank’s holiday index. With Sweden as a base (index 100), the price level is 46 for Thailand, 48 for Vietnam, 50 for the Philippines and 50 for Malaysia.

Mainland China has an index of 52, whilst Taiwan has 64.

Hungary and Poland, with an index of 48 and 49 respectively, are Europe’s cheapest countries when measuring the cost of accommodation, food & drink, taxi travel and similar things for tourists. Most expensive is Switzerland with 125, followed closely by Norway, with 123.
