Difference in rates

There’s a difference between the rates you see on the business news on TV or in the newspapers’ financial sections and the rates you get e.g. when you exchange money at FOREX Bank.

The former is a so called “Interbank rate”, when money is moved electronically between two accounts. Cash, on the other hand, is physical money. FOREX Bank buys currency in countries that don’t use them as means of payment, transports them to Sweden and then distributes them to its branches. It is a costly method, but thanks to a large turnover of currency, the difference between the interbank rate and cash rate is minimal.
