Money advice for Japan

You probably know that Japan’s currency is called the Yen. 1 Yen is worth just under SEK 0,09. It’s a bit strange that one of the world’s largest economies has such a low-valued currency.

FOREX Bank recommends travellers to Japan to buy Yen (JPY) for the first few days and then making ATM withdrawals when needed, with e.g. FOREX Visa, FOREX Bank card or the prepaid Global Cash (the latter two also being managed by Visa). FOREX Bank also sells travellers’ cheques in JPY. Although plastic cards have all but wiped travellers’ cheques out of the market, it can be a good idea to have some of your spending money in cheques if you plan on making a long stay in the country as they are insured.
