Sound Liquids?

From the 29th of April 2013, you will be allowed to carry liquids in your hand luggage again when flying. You will be allowed to carry larger amounts than today’s 100ml per container, which must be packed in a 1 litre, re-sealable plastic bag. The EU commission is responsible for making this change. When the decision was made they thought that the technology to distinguish “good” liquids from “bad” ones would be available. But the technology available today doesn’t seem to be reliable enough and is expensive too.

To avoid longer queues and higher ticket prices (the increasing costs for airports’ security control will be passed on to the airlines), many people want the decision to be postponed until later on. According to the newspaper Sydsvenskan, SAS has contacted the department for trade and commerce, who, according to sources, have passed on their views to the EU transport commissioner.
