Thailand - The Christmas dream

Travel operator, Fritidsresor, has asked just over 5000 Swedes, in a Christmas survey about where their dream holiday would be and about the best way to spend Christmas. “Thailand would be great”, thought no less than 26 per cent of those who answered, whilst 18 per cent went for the Maldives and 11 per cent for Mauritius.

The Canaries are strong in the Swedish minds and was chosen by 7 per cent of those who answered. Egypt, where “everyone” goes, both during summer and winter, didn’t even feature as a dream trip for Christmas. Egypt received only one per cent of the votes.

When asked about the actual Christmas celebrations abroad, 60 per cent wished themselves as far away from the lye fish and ham as possible and choses dinner at a local restaurant instead. 18 per cent chose celebrating Scandinavian style at their hotel, whilst 11 per cent could celebrate Christmas any old day.
