The most valuable currencies

Money is a fascinating subject, which is almost inexhaustible. Think about all the bars (often in places frequented by tourists) where the walls are decorated with international notes.

The editor of Flash, however, has never seen a Kuwaiti Dinar anywhere. This could be because it is the most valuable currency unit in the world. The cash rate for a Dinar (KWD) is about SEK 25.45 and is followed by the Oman Rial (OMR), which costs about SEK 19.80 and the Bahrain Dinar, SEK 18.70.

KWD can be found in notes of ¼, ½, 1, 5, 10 and 20. The subdivision is called fils. One Dinar is the equivalent of 1000 fils.

Europe’s highest valued currency at present is the Latvian Lat (LVL), which costs SEK 13.50. LVL is locked to the Euro.
