Tourist tax in Rome

Governors of Rome introduced a number of taxes at the beginning of the year which affect tourists.

People staying in four or five star hotels must pay three Euros per person per night, two Euros per night for more modest accommodation and one Euro per night at campsites. The tax can be charged for a maximum of ten nights. Also an entry fee of one Euro has been levied on all public museums and other attractions coming under the council’s management.
