Zlatan and Barcelona

Autumn is the time of year for city trips. The most popular place at the moment is Barcelona, which at the travel agents, Ticket, has knocked New York off the top spot on the list for sales of trips between 1st of September and 30th of November. Could it be the Zlatan effect? Might the fact that our biggest football star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who currently plays for FC Barcelona mean that many Swedes want to see him play at the immense Nou Camp arena, which seats 90,000 spectators?

Perhaps, but Barcelona itself has some ‘extraordinary’ things to entice you anyway; shopping, entertainment, tapas, a beach in the middle of the city, Gaudi’s weird creations and much much more. A tip for the first-timer is to buy a 24-hour ticket for the sightseeing busses and then you can hop off at various attractions, and then carry on to the next one.

Don’t let pickpockets ruin your enjoyment by stealing your money. There are a lot of them, especially on the fashionable street ‘La Rambla’. Deposit your valuables at the hotel’s safe. Only carry around the cash you need for one day!
