travelling to countries in crisis?


The Swedish Travel and Tourist Database, an annual survey on Swedes’ travel habits, asks us if we would like to go on holiday in countries in crisis or not. Travel to Greece has increased by 26% compared to last year. At the same time Swedes’ trips to Egypt have decreased by 40% during the same period. Has the Arab Spring had such a negative effect on one of our favourite destinations?

Rocketing up in the survey is Mexico, which has increased by 320%. It’s said to be due to the investment in charter trips to the Yucatán peninsula.
