Why the bank must ask questions

It’s a legal requriment that the bank has good knowledge about you as a costumer and your dealings when a business relationship is entered. The bank also needs to follow up your transactions on a continous basis. This means that you always will need to identify yourself when you want to carry our an bank errand, e.g. if you want to open an account or make a transaction. When you make a deposit the bank might ask you more questions concering the origin of the money. The anti money-laundering directive applies in Sweden since 2009.
