Learn the difference between reserving, buying and ordering currency

Here we explain the differences between buying and reserving currency on our site and in the currency app. And how it works in practice.

Reserve currency - pay in store

When you reserve currency, the desired currency and amount are pre-booked on our site or in our currency app. You then pick up and pay for your currency at the FOREX Bank store you've chosen.

By reserving currency you can be sure that the currency is in stock and is packed when you come to the store. If the store has your currency in stock, you can usually pick it up the day after the reservation. In some cases, the store may not have your currency in stock, in that case it might take up to 5 working days before you can pick it up.

At some stores you can set the pick-up date for your reservation. If the currency is not available at the desired date, we will contact you as soon as possible.

If you have not chosen a pick-up date yourself, an email will be sent to you when the currency is ready for pick-up.

Reserving currency costs nothing extra but you need a valid ID and your order number (stated in your booking confirmation emailed to you) in connection with the collection. Example of order number RES53b2b1.

Good to know: Keep in mind that if you do not pick up your currency two days after the selected pick-up date or when the store sends out the delivery notice, your reservation will disappear. However, you can always contact us to change the pickup day.

Purchase currency online

Buying currency means that you pay for the currency online directly on our site or in the currency app. Then you can choose whether you want to collect the currency at selected FOREX Bank stores or have the currency sent home by registered mail. The latter option is for a fee of SEK 69.

If you have chosen to have the currency sent home, Postnord will notify you when the currency is ready to be picked up. The delivery time to get the currency sent to your postal agent is 3-7 working days.

If you choose to collect your purchased currency in one of our bank stores, you will receive an email when your currency is ready to be picked up.

Good to know: Keep in mind that your home delivered currency will be available for pick-up at a postal agent near your registered address. Postnord announces which. Don't forget to bring valid ID papers.

Order currency

It is simply our collective name when you purchase or reserve your currency from us in advance.
