In April 2016, FOREX stopped selling €500 banknotes. Many banks and exchange companies in Europe have already introduced a ban on trading in 500-euro banknotes, FOREX now chooses to follow this. It is also in line with the recommendations of the ECB (European Central Bank). The ECB has also decided to stop producing the €500 banknote. Since 1 January 2021, FOREX also does not purchase €500 banknotes from customers.
