The currency used in South Korea is called Won and has the currency code KRW. One Won is divided into 100 chŏn.
Tip! If you bring cash equivalent to USD 10 000 or more, you must declare these in customs. Cash is more commonly used than cards, but card payment are accepted in larger restaurants, stores and hotels. There are ATMs in cities, but not all accept foreign cards.
