With the FOREX Summer Holiday Index 2026, you get a clear price indication of what it actually costs at your destination based on real-world expenses such as food, drink, and beach life. The index makes it easy to compare popular destinations and plan your travel budget for the summer.
The FOREX Summer Holiday Index 2026 shows the price level in some of the Swedes' most popular sun destinations. The price level in Stockholm is the starting point and has an index of 100. A destination with an index of 80 is on average 20% cheaper, while an index of 110 means that the destination is 10% more expensive than Stockholm.
The index is based on what two adults typically spend money on during the holiday – not hotels or flights, but on-site expenses.
To give a realistic picture of the costs, the index is based on a so-called tourist basket* which includes, among other things, costs for food at restaurants, drinks, sun loungers, souvenirs and more.
By combining these costs, we get an overall picture of what a typical holiday day at the beach actually costs.
